Xylosma acunae grows in xeromorphic thorny scrub on serpentine, it is considered endemic to Central Cuba living in the provinces of Villa Clara and Camagüey, is categorized as endangered by IUCN categories. The poor knowledge of Xylosma acunae was the reason which led to further research in biology, ecology and threats to the populations of this species, and so recommend actions for its conservation. To carry out the proposed objectives it was used conservation integrated strategy ex situ in situ and the major studios developed were: a review of available literature and herbarium (Herbarium ULV), botanical characterization, phytosociology with application of the method of Braun-Blanquet, phenological variables study, gamic spread of the species, condition assessment and finally actions for the recovery of the species in their natural habitat were recommended. It is show that leaf traits are not diagnostic characters showing sexual dimorphism in Xylosma acunae. It is established the Sub-Association-Xylosmaetosum Guettardetum subass. nov., in the variants with Byrsonima crassifolia and Eritroxylum havanense. It was also found that periods of flowering and fruiting for the species are larger than those given in previous studies and the small number of individuals in populations of Xylosma acunae not due to problems in the germination of seeds, or the seedling stage and juvenile of this species. Recommended actions include the strengthening of the populations of the species in their natural habitat.
