Resumen
The objective of this major paper is to propose a system of activities
to contribute to the development of speaking ability in French
language in 7th grade students at” José Ramón León Acosta”
Secondary School in Santa Clara through a special interest group.
The major paper offers the theoretical and methodological
backgrounds chosen to support the scientific problem identified as
well as the main objective in developing the speaking ability in
French language, its importance, what can be done to motivate the
students to learn this language and the advantages of learning
another foreign language to develop the students’ general culture.
The students’ weaknesses and strengths were assessed through
different empirical methods: A survey, interviews to students, a
pedagogical test, specialists’ criteria and triangulation. The data
obtained was taken into account to design a system of activities to
contribute to the development of this ability in French. The author
called upon the teachers of French to contribute to enrich the
proposal with new activities, which could motivate the students for
the learning of French as a second foreign language.
